NHS PLEDGE

MEETING DATES
Our meetings occur every first and third Thursday of every month unless influenced by a school break or school cancellation.
The meetings occur in the Senior Lounge at 2:20 p.m. Please make every attempt to be on time.

NEW MEMBER INFORMATION SHEET
All new members should fill out the following sheet and return it to Dr. English as soon as possible. This will assist in the communication of reminders of meetings, commitments you have made for service opportunities and others forms of information on a regular basis.

DESCRIPTION OF OFFICER DUTIES
In order for each member to understand the role of each officer in our chapter, a detailed description of each office is provided below. officers are typically elected during the fourth marking period.
All officers are expected to:
- Attend all meetings
- Participate in the induction of new members
- Oversee and assist in projects
- Notify the advisor if problems occur within the chapter
PRESIDENT:
- Oversees, directs, organizes and represents the chapter
- Calls chapter meetings
- Communicates with the advisor on a weekly basis
- Directs the Induction Ceremony
- Oversees activities of all officers
VICE PRESIDENT:
- Acts as liaison with group service committees
- Supports the president in his/her duties
- Collects e-mail addresses from members
- Updates member e-mail addresses
- Sends e-mail reminders to members concerning meeting dates and activities
SECRETARY:
- Keeps minutes of NHS meetings
- Prepares agendas for up-coming meetings
- Prepares quarterly newsletters in conjunction with the president
TREASURER:
- Collects, records and deposits money
- Assists the secretary with attendance records at meetings
HISTORIAN:
- Records chapter activities
- Organizes chapter scrapbook
- Assists secretary with attendance records at meetings
PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER:
- Publicize NHS Activities and meetings
- Submit morning announcements relating to meetings and events
- Update NHS display box in the main foyer
TUTORING CHAIR:
- Coordinates peer tutoring program
- Report to advisor, president and vice-president concerning activities of the committee
- Be responsible for the work of their committee
COMMITTEE CHAIRS:
- Coordinate activities of their committee
- Report to advisor, president and vice-president concerning activities of the committee
- Be responsible for the work of their committee
